Two Tools are included--ProxFind and DefFind. ProxFind allows the user to search for and display the use of words and phrases in one or multiple text documents. When ProxFind finds text meeting the specified search parameters, ProxFind displays selections from the relevant document, with the search text highlighted. ProxFind also displays a list of the displayed selections, together with the location of the selection within the document where the selection was found. DefFind retrieves all the defined terms from a selected document and displays the defintion and the uses of the definition, with the defined term highlighted. Rider 8 Tools operates independently of other applications (including Microsoft Word), and searches Microsoft Word (.doc and .docx), Rich Text Format (.rtf), Text (.txt) and HTML (.htm) documents. A user does not need Microsoft Word installed on his or her computer in order to search Microsoft Word (.doc) documents.
