Drive, as an electronic device, or as a combination of mechanics and electronics, is performed by its absolute physical speed and data input and output rates. On the other hand, any a drive is connected to a system, as storage and/or host of virtual memory. Nowadays, the optimum algorithm as a more economical approach to the best possible on-system performance is widely used.
SciMark Standard Edition Drives is measuring drives on the operating system level, in order to see how fast it could be in real life. There would be a large file made, but nothing will be more than write and read. It is good to measure the throughout of most kinds of drives. Version 2008.02.12 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.
