Sponge allows you to download files from Usenet Newsgroups. Features: decodes yEnc, uuEncoded, and Mime encoded files; configure multiple news servers for simultaneous use. This allows you to download from a free server supplied by your ISP and use a pay server to fill in whatever is missing; ability to search Usenet without downloading headers using BinSearch; ability to find and filter articles based on keywords; and incremental group update.
Version 2.7 has the ability to view the number of articles when selecting groups to subscribe, ability to export compressed NZB files, convert name of files with errors to UPPERCASE, download first files smaller than specified size, ability to view the number of filtered articles, improved 64-bit support, and bug fixes.
